## Holiday Donation Campaign Update!

### Where should the Donations go?

##### Last month we asked for your help to decide how to allocate our charity dollars

We thoroughly researched hundreds of charities and finally paired it down to a list of 7 options that we felt were most deserving based on several factors, including alignment with our core values:

**Program %:** reflects the percent of total expenses a charity spent on its programs in the year analyzed. For example, a Program % of 80% means that the charity spent 80% of its expenses on charitable programs. The remaining 20% was spent on overhead, which includes fundraising, and management & general.

**Cost to Raise $100:** reflects how much it cost the charity to bring in each $100 of cash donations from the public in the year analyzed. For example, a Cost to Raise $100 of $20 means that the charity spent $20 on fundraising for each $100 of cash donations it received.

 

### The Short List:

- **NAMI **- NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
- **Action For Healthy Kids** - They help create healthier schools by bringing all the members of a school community together and equipping them with the tools and resources they need to make change happen.
- **Ada Developers Academy** - Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, cost-free coding school that supports women and minorities in Tech.
- **Teach for America** - Too many children in America are denied access to an excellent education. Teach For America catalyzes leadership to make educational equity a reality.
- **Code.org** - Code.org is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science as part of their core K-12 education.
- **Friends of Animals** - Friends of Animals (FoA) is a non-profit, international animal advocacy organization that advocates for the rights of nonhuman animals, free-living and domestic. Their goal is to free animals from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation around the world.
- **Code Path** - As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, they bring together employers, students, and colleges to eliminate inequities in tech education, diversify the field, and provide underrepresented students with a path toward economic mobility and generational wealth.
